Treatments for cellulite remain largely unsuccessful because they only target the appearance of cellulite. It was finally understood that the dimpling on the surface of the skin was but a symptom of the underlying cause and to banish the bumps would require a deeply acting treatment.
Endermologie®, a subdermal approach to treating cellulite, was pioneered by LPG Systems in France over a decade ago. Since its introduction to the USA, Endermologie® was the first to be FDA approved for temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite. Its safety and efficacy have been the subject of several clinical trials and on going research reveals positive results. Endermologie® has been given extensive coverage on TV networks and magazines.
Endermologie® is non-surgical and non-invasive. It involves the use of a motorized device with two adjustable rollers and controlled suction, which creates a symmetrical skin-fold. The skin gently folds and unfolds under the continuous action of the rollers allowing for smooth and regulated deep tissue mobilization. As the viscosity of the subcutaneous fat layer decreases, blood flow and lymphatic drainage increase, facilitating the elimination of excess fluid and metabolites, while improving overall cellular function.
Mechanisms of Treatment
- Stretching of connective tissue.
- Increase of blood and lymphatic flow.
- Skin exfoliation.
- Stimulation of collagen production.
- Facilitation of fat metabolism.
Endermologie® has five significant outcomes:
- Movement of Fluid – moves extra cellular fluids which eliminates bloating, water retention and fat deposits.
- Reduction of Internal Scar Tissue – breaks down internal scarring that traps fluids which generates pockets of fat and in turn causes unsightly cellulite.
- Increased Microcirculation – increases fluid exchange in the capillary network to assist in the movement of fluids back into the vascular and lymphatic system increasing oxygen and nutrient delivery and detoxification.
- Stimulation of Fibroblasts – fibroblasts are the fundamental building elements of the connective tissue and when stimulated they produce collagen and elastin to reduce the signs of aging.
- Lipolysis – withdraws fatty acids from fat cells back into the circulation for metabolism.
How Does Endermologie Work
Clinically, the effectiveness of ENDERMOLOGIE® lies in its action upon cutaneous and subcutaneous structures such as connective tissues, fatty tissues, as well as vascular and lymphatic circulation. As a result, the body is reshaped; skin quality and texture are improved. The dermis and hypodermis connective tissue, which can be compared to a “gel” becomes more fluid with the first few mobilizing maneuvers. The combined action of the motorized rollers that successfully fold and unfold the skin and the maneuvers cause the density of the tissue to change, improving cellular and fluid exchanges. Release and decompression of the different vascular, arterial, venous, and lymphatic structures immediately result in an influx of blood along with its nourishing elements, and the removal of excess fluids and unhealthy metabolites. Tissues become transformed, and the result is a thinner dermis and hypodermis. Adipocytes and their receptors regain the mediators that facilitate lipolysis, further prompting the thinning of the hypodermis along with the reshaping of the silhouette. At the same time, tissue is completely restructured through evacuation of water from proteoglycan molecules and release of waste attached to elastin. Treatment after treatment, fibroblasts – the connective tissue’s mother cells – are stimulated, leading to renewed collagen and elastin production. This translates into cutaneous resurfacing and tissue rejuvenation. Taking into account every region of the body, this technique boosts the body’s major cleansing mechanisms, including lymphatic drainage, purging the inner environment contained within the body’s smooth and supple outer shell. Practiced during treatment, Endermogym actively and passively stimulates muscles, supplying them with essential nutrients, and provides resistance training to create toned and shaped curves.
LPG and Fibromyalgia
The Cellu M6 was demonstrated to effectively treat the symptoms of fibromyalgia in a recent study, the results of which were presented at the Sixth World Congress on Myofascial Pain and Fibromyalgia by Dr. Christine Gordon, an Ohio physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor. The study explored the Cellu M6’s ability to reduce pain, fatigue, morning tiredness, work difficulty, stiffness, anxiety and depression. Four of the ten study participants experienced symptom reductions of 80% or more.
The LPG Cellu M6 combines the benefits of manual mobilization with the effortlessness and reliability of its pre-programmed and scientifically validated technology. Gliding across the skin, the Cellu M6 is uniquely able to precisely target the deepest layers of muscles and tissues, providing consistent deep tissue rejuvenation effectively loosening bands of hardened tissue, soothing pain, relaxing tensions and restoring mobility.
How Long Does this Procedure Take?
An Endermologie treatment usually takes 35 minutes to perform, but depending on the size and number of areas being treated, times may vary.
Endermologie Side Effects:
Endermologie is pain-free procedure with no side effects. Since your muscles are worked over like a massage, a slight soreness afterwards is expected.
Length of Endermologie Results:
You will require continuous Endermologie treatments to maintain your results.
